22 May is celebrated worldwide every year as the International Day for Biological Diversity. It was adopted as a red-letter day by the UN General Assembly in December 2000 to increase public understanding and awareness about biodiversity issues.
To celebrate this day, The International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture -ICBA will organize a free online workshop on nature photography to share our appreciation and love of the biodiversity in the UAE. The workshop is part of a larger initiative called ICBA YES targeting youth empowerment and cooperation in the country and abroad.
Workshop Overview
This workshop is an introduction to the study and practice of digital photography. Participants will learn how to take great photos with a digital camera and different types of lenses. They will also learn how to see light and photograph it. The workshop will not focus on technicalities only. A major component will involve reviewing photographs and films and understanding that photography is an aesthetic, critical, and conceptual practice.
This workshop will run online over the course of two days from 21 May 2020 to 22 May 2020 to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity.
